Pakistan Taking Action Against Madrasas, Why Not in India?

Today the congress MLA Smt. Urvashi Devi demanded in Vidhan
Sabha to carry out detailed search of Madrasas and other religious
places, which are functioning in the name of education or religious
activities in
Gujarat. She said that even in Pakistan General Parvez Mushraff has
issued an order to close such madrasas which are engaged in illegal
activities. So Gujarat, being a border state, should also take
initiative in this direction. She also said that the mikes should be
removed from religious places as per the Supreme Court order.
Today, while
discussing in Vidhan Sabha the demands of home department, she
vehemently demanded to investigate the anti national activities carried
out in Madrasas in the name of educational activities. She said that
even Pakistan inspite of being a Muslim country could order closure of
such activities carried out in madrasas, in the name of education or
religion and the muslim youth’s mind is diverted towards fundamentalism
therefore such madarsas should be closed down. She demanded again to
take action against the Maulavis undertaking anti national activity in
their madrasas. Therefore Govt. of Gujarat should ban such madrasas.
Similarly, as per the
Supreme Court verdict the loudspeakers on Masjids and other religious
places should be removed. She said that the loudspeakers from Masjids in
her area of Devgadhbaria have been removed one year ago. |
