8. Conspiracy to Derail Train near Prantij,

On Ahmedabad-Himmatnagar
rail-route, about 2 km from Prantij, few joints of the rails were opened
up to derail trains and to kill people on larger scale than Godhra
carnage. This conspiracy was however exposed by the presence of mind of
the engine driver. The police is now investigating.
From on official sources, it is known that due to Hindu
festival of Holi & Dhuleti on 28th and
29th March, and
many of the state transport routes being not operating, many people from
Ahmedabad going to Rajsthan selected the rail-route. To take advantage
of this situation, anti-national elements, conspired to remove the
joints on the rail so as to kill large number of people by derailing
train between Prantij and Salal. However the light-engine driver going
from Himmatnagar to Ahmedabad who got suspicious while passing through
these rails, stopped there, and found that the bolts of the joint of
rails were removed. He immediately informed the rail-officials. If he
had not shown this presence of mind, the train going from Ahmedabad to
Udaipur or the
train going from Khedbrahma to Ahmedabad might have met with serious
accident. This shows that the anti-national culprits have now made
Prantij there target. Efforts were made to contact area manager of
railway Shri Rajkumar Meena, but he could not be contacted till late
night.
