Plan to Burn the Whole Sabarmati Express
Gujarat Samachar,
March 16, 2002
A more shocking fact
about the burning of S-6 coach of Sabarmati Express at Godhra has come
out from the statement made by the state government in the State
Assembly. Minister of State for Home said that there was a conspiracy to
burn the whole train.
Replying to the
opposition allegation that the state intelligence department had failed
to get prior information of this conspiracy, the MOS for Home Mr.
Gordhan Jhadaphia said that the manner in which the train was burnt
indicated that there was a clear conspiracy to burn the whole train.
Arrangements were made subsequently to take the train further to
Ahmedabad so as to carry thousands of those who were rescued. Had they
not been rescued in time it was possible that a huge loss of life could
have been there.
(It may be remembered
that the scheduled arrival of Sabarmati Express at Godhra was around 3
a.m. Had it reached there on time in darkness, it is beyond imagination
as to how great and more ghastly this carnage would have been.
Fortunately on that day, the train was running more than 4 hours late.
Gujrat Samachar,
April 6, 2002
SIMI worker Hasim
Raza who was arrested yesterday admitted that there was in fact a plan
to burn the whole Sabarmati Express Train on February 27. The train was
to have been stopped at Chanchelav station and burnt. As the train got
delayed the terrorists who came to Chanchelav in three trucks went to
Godhra and were only able to burn one bogey. The conspiracy had been
hatched so that riots would break out not only in Gujarat but also in
the whole country.
On hearing the news
that a large number of Karsevaks from
Gujarat would be participating in the Ram Shila Poojan ceremony at
Ayodhya, these elements planned to create communal disturbances in a big
way in a city of
Gujarat
and for this they selected the highly sensitive town of
Godhara.
They selected Chanchelav, which is 12 km. from Godhra. As the train was
delayed, the plan was carried out at Godhra station itself. Reliable
sources from Godhra indicate that the fierce criminal Hashim Raza who
was arrested by the CID yesterday has given this information.
Hashim Syed Raza who
was brought to Godhra on transfer warrant from Jalgaon, gave police the
shocking information that more than 200 people had reached Chanchelav in
3 trucks but as the train got delayed, they came back and they had tea
and snacks at a hotel in that village. According to sources, this hotel
is a meeting place of one of the prime accused of the carnage Godhra
Municipality President Mohammed Husain Kalota and his cohort Hasim Raza.
Hasim Raza also gave the shocking information that as Godhra is a
sensitive place and as SIMI has a wide network there, it was easy for
them to conduct the operation at Godhra. He knew that about 55 percent
of the karsevaks going for Ram Shila Poojan were from Gujarat only. They
got excited on receiving this information and decided to create communal
disturbances in Gujarat so that the Ayodhya programme could not succeed.
He also admitted that they were confident that even a small incident
could engulf the whole of
Gujarat into the fire of communal disturbances. |
