RESOLUTION
Jaipur,
September 15th, 2002
The
National Executive Committee of the National Medicos Organisation (NMO)
in its meeting held at Jaipur on September 14-15, 2002 unanimously
resolved that –
1. The
preventive aspects of health should be included in school curriculum to
promote health of individual and community as a
whole.
2.
The health budget of different states and Central Government should be
enhanced to at least 10%. The NEC regrets that it is successively
reduced, (now less than 2%) in each plans in the thrust to Primary and
Preventive Health Care, Rural Health, Medical Education to the student.
3.
All states should have a
University
of Health Sciences to streamline health
education.
4.
Pre-PG medical entrance examination needs serious review.
5.
Indian
Medical Services be restarted as an allied services to the IAS and all
health related bureaucratic posts be replaced by them.
6.
Medical teaching and examination be allowed in the Indian languages as
on
the
pattern of UPSC to have lively relation with the common men of the
country and for these immediate administrative set up should he made.
7.
Drug Ministry should be with health instead of petro-chemicals.
India
should
take initiative to get rid of product patent which will enhance the
already
soaring drug prices. All life-saving drugs should be made tax-free.
8.
Age-old, ancient Charak-Shapath be made compulsory for every student
entering in medical education and also be signed also when entering-profession.
